Our very own in-house HVAC superstar! Blue Star got so lucky when we hired Pilar. She has an impressive and long history of running large HVAC companies over the last 15+ years. During the hiring process Kevin made it noticeably clear, that he wanted a job where he could produce high quality products and not just slap jobs together. Nickname: Golden Colten.
We call him Golden Colten, with a very precise intention. This young man showed our team so much promise in his 1st year back in 2017. Together we decided he could very well be the best all-around multi- talented and multi-capable person on our work force.
I cannot say enough good things about Colten. He has a high work ethic, showing up on time & ready to go to work. I remember one day we were on a job and had lots to do still, an urgent call came in and he told me, “I got this boss, you go help someone else.” We both went on that day, and we were able to bring comfort to both families.
Colten is young enough to still learn, yet old enough that he has had other job experiences. We value & appreciate him here at Blue Star. Colten is a fast learner. I can show him the best way to complete a task and once is enough for him. He is interested in how things function, and also understands why we complete the tasks in a specific order.
Colten is one in a million. He was not happy or lucky at his last job, but he was lucky in a unique way because of his mother, who works at a shop where we get our fleet trucks & vehicles serviced/ repaired. His mother asked me if I would be interested in a very diligent worker. 3 years at his last job, a very dedicated and loyal employee.
I really like hard workers, so I told her to have him get me a resume, it didn’t take long before he was standing in front of my desk with his resume, and we hired him on the spot.

We first met Dakota through Colten. Colten and Dakota have been friends for many years. Dakota helped us paint our warehouse before we moved in. We realized that Colten & Dakota are a great team together. They both worked together as professional painters.

“KING OF COMFORT”
Dennis is our super- awesome Senior Project Engineer. You only need to meet this guy one time to see that he is HVAC for life. This guy knows HVAC like nobody if there was HVAC Jeopardy, he would be the world champion!
If ANYONE in our company has questions about model and or serial nomenclature, he has the answer off the top of his head in most cases, if not he knows where to get the correct information and can do it fast if needed.
He has a LONG history of ALL HVAC. Dennis has worked most of his years for just a couple of other companies and so he KNOWS what they are thinking before THEY even see the job. He started with one company as the first sales guy and eventually helped grow that company to be very successful.
When you get an appointment with him you are dealing with someone who has seen it ALL before and can provide quotes not estimates for exactly what you want. Also, if you are interested, Dennis may have some AWESOME more modern & energy saving options that other companies don’t even THINK OF or know about.
Nickname: Raddist Travis.
Travis is a former United States Marine. Travis came to me one day, when his old job was slow, he was looking for steady income and he had a baby on the way.
His first day working with us he helped replace 4 rooftop pack units at the Certified Fleet Sales lot on Railroad Ave. in Pittsburg.
It was his birthday, and he was EXCITED to be part of our team. Every time I talked to him, he is smiling and happy. We tell jokes often and he appreciates my sense of humor.
Travis is a DEDICATED FAMILY MAN, one day, we were working at the shop for the day and his lady brought their 2 daughters and lunch, just so they could eat, talk, and spend some extra time together!
This guy is simply happy as can be, whenever we talk, not afraid of ANY project, he is BUILT for this career, and he is hungry for work. When we walk jobs together, usually see the same opportunities and we both like a lot of the same tools and techniques.
I one time called him and described an exceedingly difficult project that we were bidding, and he said something I will remember a long time, his quote…

Dan has worked for many years in the Heating & Air Conditioning industry, in Antioch and Contra Costa County on literally thousands of homes and job sites. Big jobs little jobs you name it. He and I worked together long before he came to Blue Star. Instant team leader, he has been with us for several milestones in Blue Star, including overachieving as team leader every day from start to finish, successfully completing service calls, bringing families comfort. One time Dan finished one of the biggest jobs in the history of our company. This job gave 57 families upgraded heat and not one single person was less than thrilled!
